How to migrate from Zapier to Samsarix Spirals
Why migrate?
Zapier already offers workflow history, error-handling tools, AI features, Copilot, and Agents. A migration should therefore start with a concrete need—not the claim that the source platform has none of those capabilities.
Samsarix is a fit to evaluate when you want its explicit 24-agent roster and handoffs, six UCF coordination signals, model-spend controls, or user-controlled cross-run context. Keep any Zap that does not gain enough from those differences to justify a careful cutover.
Step 1: Export your Zapier zaps
Zapier provides two relevant official export paths:
- Team and Enterprise owners can download Zap workflow JSON using Zapier's dedicated workflow import/export feature.
- Other account owners can request an account-data export and locate
Zapfile.jsonin the downloaded archive.
Keep the original export as a rollback and review artifact. It does not include live app credentials and it does not guarantee that every Zapier app, action, filter, or path has a Samsarix equivalent.
Step 2: Import into Samsarix
Treat the import as a proposed mapping:
- Navigate to Spirals > Import in your dashboard
- Upload a compatible official JSON export
- Review every proposed trigger, action, filter, path, and field mapping
- Reconnect credentials and replace or redesign unsupported steps
Step 3: Add agent intelligence
Only add agent steps when they have a defined role and acceptance check. A Samsarix spiral can:
- Add agent review steps — Have Kael review sensitive outputs for quality
- Add pattern detection — Have Echo analyze execution history to suggest optimizations
- Add explicit failure handling — Choose a bounded retry, reschedule, or escalation policy
Step 4: Monitor with UCF metrics
Once your spiral is running, watch the UCF dashboard:
- Is friction spiking at a particular step? That integration might need configuration.
- Is harmony dropping? Two agents might be making conflicting decisions.
- Is throughput declining? An external service might be throttling.
Step 5: Test and cut over
Run the proposed Spiral with bounded, non-production sample data while the source Zap remains authoritative. Compare outputs, costs, retries, and UCF signals, then use a staged cutover for one workflow at a time.
Both platforms support iteration. Samsarix emphasizes inspectable agent handoffs and reviewable run context. History may inform a suggested change, but a production workflow should not silently rewrite itself.
